Introducing Dr. Jean-Louis Lazzari, new Scientific Managing Editor

We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Jean-Louis Lazzari, Centre Interdisciplinaire de Nanoscience de Marseille (CINaM) to the role of Scientific Managing Editor of EPJ Photovoltaics. He will support the Editors-in-Chief, Pr. Pere Roca i Cabarrocas, École Polytechnique, and Dr. Daniel Lincot, CNRS, Institut Photovoltaïque d'Ile de France, in the day-to-day running of the journal.

Both Editors-in-Chief are well-known experts in the field of photovoltaic solar energy conversion and lead an experienced, international editorial board specialising in key areas such as Bulk Silicon, Semiconductor Thin Films and Organic Materials and Devices. Dr. Lazzari will ensure the smooth operation of the journal and help to maintain the consistent high standards which recently led to the award of the DOAJ Seal for “best practice in open access publishing”.

Dr. Lazzari is widely-published and has previously guest edited a number of EPJ PV topical issues. He works as a senior researcher in CINaM and his research focus is on surfaces, interfaces of heterostructures and nanostructures of semiconductors, electronic, optical and magnetic properties of thin-film compounds for optoelectronic and microelectronic devices. He is a quantum- and device- physicist. He is very active in international events linked to Nanoscience, Nanotechnologies and Photovoltaics (Nanotexnology, former Photovoltaic Technical Conference, Nanomeeting). He is a scientific expert for the French National Research Agency (ANR), the Association Nationale Recherche Technologie (ANRT), and the European Commission, Research Executive Agency.

“We welcome Dr. Jean-Louis Lazzari to the EPJ PV editorial team and look forward to his presence alongside Pr. Pere Roca i Cabarrocas and Dr. Daniel Lincot. We very much enjoy working with such a dynamic and talented group of editors.” Ariana Fuga, Senior Editor, EDP Sciences
