It is with great pleasure that we are able to share news of a recent award to Daniel Lincot, Director of Research at the CNRS, Institut Photovoltaïque d'Ile de France (IPVF) and Co-Editor-in-Chief of EPJ Photovoltaics. The prestigious ‘Prix Ivan Peychès’ has been given annually since 1979 to "reward work relating to applications in the study of non-metallic materials, particularly vitreous materials or solar energy or, failing that, in the field of applied sciences".
Professor Lincot has been conducting research on photovoltaic solar energy since 1978. He has originated innovations in the field of thin-film processes and materials. He has also made a decisive contribution to collaboration between research and industry with the creation of two dedicated institutes; the Photovoltaic Energy Research and Development Institute in 2002, and the Institut photovoltaïque d'Île de France in 2013.
This wealth of experience and expertise has served him well in his role of Co-Editor-in-Chief of EPJ Photovoltaics, an open access journal which publishes original, peer-reviewed papers focused in the field of photovoltaic solar energy conversion. He shares the position with Pere Roca i Cabarrocas, Director of the Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films (LPICM) at the Ecole Polytechnique where he is a CNRS Director of Research and professor. Professor Roca i Cabarrocas is also the Director of the French Federation on Photovoltaics (FedPV) and a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Institut Photovoltaïque Ile-de- France (IPVF).
“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Professor Lincot”, said Ariana Fuga, Senior Editor, EDP Sciences. “We have been working together for a number of years now and I enjoy the insight and energy he brings to the editorial team. The professionalism and extensive connections of both Professor Lincot and Professor Roca i Cabarrocas are a huge advantage for the journal – we are very fortunate!”
