EPJ Photovoltaics celebrates Dr. Daniel Lincot, winner of the 2024 Becquerel Prize

EPJ Photovoltaics congratulates Dr. Daniel Lincot, former and now Honorary Editor-in-Chief of EPJ PV, on receiving the 2024 Alexandre Edmond Becquerel Prize. The award, presented on 23rd September 2024 at the 41st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, recognises Dr. Lincot’s lifelong contributions to photovoltaic research, industrialisation, and the promotion of solar energy, particularly within France.

A graduate of ESPCI-Paristech, Dr. Lincot pioneered research on copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin film solar cells and led major initiatives, including the founding of the Institut Photovoltaïque d’Île-de-France (IPVF). His many accolades include the CNRS Silver Medal and the Electrochemical Society’s Vittorio de Nora Award.

Beyond academia and industry, Dr. Lincot has actively engaged with citizen initiatives, advocating for stronger links between renewable energy development and social and environmental issues. His commitment to connecting science with broader societal concerns continues to inspire.

On behalf of the entire EPJ PV team and the broader photovoltaic community, we congratulate Dr. Daniel Lincot on this well-deserved honour and his impact on the field of solar energy.
