Illustration of the geometric-optics interaction between a ray of light and the anti-reflective/retroreflective foil. Effect 1: the fraction of incoming light that is not transmitted into the foil upon the first incidence will hit a second facet, resulting in a higher fraction of transmitted light. Effect 2: light reflected out of the cell, in particular at the Ag fingers, is redirected back towards the active layers of the cell via a double rebound of the light beam at the textured-foil/air interface.
